Palos Verdes Voile by A Creative Mint from Cloud 9 Fabrics: A WIP Wednesday Edition

The shop recently received some Palos Verdes voile from Cloud 9 and I am in love!  I just couldn't wait to make something with it, especially since I had been drooping over it months ago when I first saw a glimpse of it.  It has such beautiful colors and the fabric is so soft.
I decided to make a top for myself and then a top for the Goob.  For myself I am working on another Datura Blouse by Deer and Doe, but this time I am going to make the version with the Peter Pan-like collar.  I am pretty excited about this one.  My first Datura, had the triangle cutouts.  My favorite print from the Palos Verdes collection is the Abalone Cove, so I went with that one for my new Datura.
Then for the Goob's top I wanted to make the tunic version of the Oliver and S Roller Skate dress since I loved the construction of it so much when I made the Hello Petal version a couple of weeks ago.   I let her pick with of the four prints she wanted and she went with the Malaga Cove....she does LOVE pink!
I have also been trying to finish up a quilt I have literally been working on for around seven years!  Is that crazy?  I have nothing to compare it to really, but that is the longest for me.  It was the third quilt I started way back when Neptune by Tula Pink Honey Buns were on sale for around $18 on Ebay!  It will be such a relief and joy to finally get this one finished.  I just need to sew on the binding...you would think I would hop to it since I am so close, but perhaps I am subconsciously elongating it!  Who know?!?!

Thanks so much for stopping by and this post is linked up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

  1. Two very pretty designs.
Good luck getting the binding on your quilt. Maybe you can set yourself a do-able target like one side a day: finished in 4 days, or if that's two much: a yard an evening. Breaking it down into smaller portions usually helps me.

  2. Thank you so much for the wonderful advice. It totally makes sense to break it down into smaller amounts so that it doesn't seem so overwhelming. Thanks so much again!
